How a folding case is built

About this print

Malachite veneer was cut and matched so the rings continued across a cabinet door. Same approach here: the two halves are cut from one virtual slab, so the banding continues across the hinge when the case is open.

Drawn for the iPhone Duo and laid out per half, so the hinge is part of the composition rather than something the pattern has to survive.
